Coach Ryane has had competition in her blood since 8 years old when she first started playing organized sports. This will be her 20th year of playing volleyball, and 3rd year coaching top national girls indoor volleyball in the NTR region. Coach Ryane is both IMPACT and USAV CAP level I certified.
In high school, she played varsity volleyball for 3 years, was varsity volleyball team captain for two years, and also earned all district honors her junior and senior years. She played club volleyball for Take it By Storm, an old Allen club team, her senior year of high school.
In college, she played both tennis and volleyball, and was a defensive specialist for the Austin College Lady 'Roos. The Lady 'Roos were American Southwest Conference Champions in 2000 and runner-up in 2001. They also competed in the NCAA national tournament in both 2000 and 2001. She made the Fall All-Academic Team for the American Southwest Conference in 2000 and 2001 in volleyball, and the Spring All-Academic Team for the ASC in tennis from 2000-2003.
She and Coach Cale met through volleyball friends, and volleyball is a huge part of their life together. They were married on a sand volleyball court at Yucatan in November of 2010, and hosted a beach doubles tournament as part of their wedding reception! They still play at least a couple of nights per week of either indoor or beach volleyball depending on the time of year.
Coach Ryane's philosophy is to pass on her passion and love for the game by developing a successful team of well-rounded, competitive athletes who have a good work ethic, a strong mental game, who are positive, respectful and motivating teammates, and who push each other to be better volleyball players and leaders on and off the court.
As a defensive specialist, Coach Ryane believes that defense is an essential all-around skill. She loves passing on her defensive knowledge and competitive spirit, and is always pushing her players to reach for the next level. Coach Ryane has been a head coach in previous years, but is attending nursing school this season so Coach Cale’s team will have the luxury of having two highly skilled coaches as she will be assisting with his team this season!
